Radiohead Concert TicketsMarch 4, 2008 - During the mid-1980s, five young men met while attending Abingdon School in Abingdon, Oxfordshire. After the five became friends, they formed their first band called "On a Friday," which referred mostly to the day the band usually rehearsed. The band members include Colin Greenwood, Jonny Greenwood, Ed O'Brien, Phil Selway and Thom Yorke.

The band got the chance to perform their first time at the Oxford Jericho Tavern. Nearly four years later, several band members had earned their college degrees and were now regrouping to record their first demo, as well as continue performing during live shows.

Despite competing with popular bands Ride and Slowdive, On a Friday continued selling tickets and performing live at live shows. Eventually, people began to take notice including record labels and producers. Chris Hufford, impressed by the band, helped record their demo and officially became the band's manager. To this day, Hufford and his partner Bryce Edge are currently the band's managers.

The band went on to sign a six-album recording contract during the late 1991 season. By the request of their label, the group changed their name to "Radiohead."

Radiohead went on to record successful albums and become one of the most widely-known alternative rock bands in the world. In 2005, Rolling Stone Magazine named Radiohead 73 in the list of greatest artists in music history. There hit albums include Pablo Honey, The Bends, OK Computer, Kid A, Amnesiac, Hail to the Thief and In Rainbows.
